Kurti Fabrics Explained: Cotton, Rayon and Blends

24 February 2026 · Radha Garments

Cotton is the most breathable of the common kurti fabrics, which makes it the default choice for daily wear in warm climates. It creases more easily than synthetic blends, so it suits buyers who don't mind a lived-in look.

Rayon has a softer drape and a slight sheen, and holds prints well — it's a common choice for kurtis that need to look a little more finished without moving into occasion-wear territory.

Cotton blends combine some of cotton's breathability with easier care and less creasing, which makes them a practical middle ground for retail stock that needs to look presentable with minimal ironing.
